Tower Guest House

Four guest rooms occupy a Victorian terraced house a short walk from Micklegate Bar, one of York's four surviving Roman-era city gateways. The location places guests inside the medieval walls without the premium charged by the Shambles-adjacent properties.

Breakfast is served in a single sitting each morning — a full Yorkshire spread rather than a self-service buffet. Room sizes vary; the first-floor double carries the highest ceilings and the most natural light.

York Minster stands roughly ten minutes on foot, and the National Railway Museum is reachable in fifteen without crossing the city walls. The train to Leeds runs every thirty minutes from York station, four blocks south.
