Three blocks east of Fifth Avenue, the Lombardy Hotel occupies a 1926 Art Deco tower on East 56th Street between Park and Lexington — a residential-feeling stretch of Midtown favored by guests avoiding Times Square crowds. Bloomingdale's sits five minutes on foot, and the 6 train at 51st Street reaches downtown meetings without a cab.

Rooms run larger than typical Midtown four-star stock, many with kitchenettes left over from the building's apartment-hotel era. The lobby's wood paneling and brass fittings are original, not reproduction.
