Leopoldskronstraße 18
About Villa Leopoldskron
Eight rooms available to private guests inside the rococo palace that doubled as the Von Trapp family home in The Sound of Music, Villa Leopoldskron occupies its own lakeside grounds south of Salzburg's Altstadt. The building dates to 1736, commissioned by Archbishop Leopold Anton von Firmian.
Guest wings occupy the east and west flanks of the main building; the Venetian Room and the library function as event spaces rather than guest lounges. The grounds border the Leopoldskroner Weiher, a shallow lake that frames a direct sightline to Hohensalzburg fortress.
Altstadt's cathedral square lies a twenty-minute walk north along the lake path. The property operates primarily as the Salzburg Global Seminar conference centre, so private stays require advance coordination.
