River House Buna

Two kilometres downstream from Vrelo Bune — one of Europe's largest karst springs — River House Buna occupies the village of Buna where the river joins the Neretva, roughly 12km south of Mostar's Old Town. It draws travellers who want a quieter base than the city centre without losing easy access to the region's main sights.

The Blagaj Tekke, a 16th-century dervish monastery built flush against the cliff above the spring, is a ten-minute walk from the address. The surrounding valley stays noticeably cooler than Mostar in summer, and the riverbanks here are lined with traditional trout restaurants rather than souvenir stalls.

Mostar's Stari Most bridge is a short drive north; the border crossing toward Medjugorje and the Adriatic coast lies within forty minutes by road, making Buna a practical midpoint for touring southern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
