About Hacienda Rumiloma
Twelve hectares of cloud-forest grounds wrap Hacienda Rumiloma into the eastern slopes of Pichincha volcano, placing the property at 2,900 metres above sea level and thirty minutes from Quito's historic centre.
The colonial structure dates to the 18th century and retains its original stone construction; rooms draw heat from open fireplaces rather than central systems, a practical necessity at altitude. Llamas graze the lower pastures within sight of the main terrace, and the surrounding páramo trails are accessed directly from the grounds.
Horse riding and guided visits to the Pululahua volcanic crater are arranged by the hacienda. The Cumbayá valley commercial strip sits fifteen minutes downhill; Quito's Old Town UNESCO core is reachable in under forty minutes by car.
