Luna Camp

Off the main track through Siwa Oasis, Luna Camp sits among date palms within walking distance of the ancient oracle temple of Amun, where Alexander the Great sought divine legitimacy in 331 BC.

Accommodation follows traditional kershif construction — salt rock and mud brick that keep interiors cool through desert afternoons without mechanical cooling. The camp's open position gives unobstructed views toward the Great Sand Sea at dusk, a detail most lodge-style properties in central Siwa cannot offer.

Siwa lies 560km west of Cairo near the Libyan border, reachable by overnight bus from Marsa Matruh. Donkey carts remain the preferred local transport; the camp arranges desert excursions to Bir Wahed hot spring and the salt lakes of Siwa.
