Tanirt ecolodge

Forty kilometres from the Libyan border, Tanirt Ecolodge rises from the salt flats of Siwa Oasis using kershef — the traditional mix of salt rock and mud that keeps interiors cool without air conditioning. The construction material is local, the labour was local, and the geometry follows Siwan building logic: thick walls, small windows, flat roofs for sleeping under desert stars.

Siwa town, Alexander's Oracle Temple, and the Great Sand Sea dunes are each reachable within twenty minutes by local transport. The oasis has no reliable ATM; guests should arrive with Egyptian pounds in hand.
