About Longvic

Longvic

Longvic sits 3 km south of Dijon's city centre in the Côte-d'Or department of Burgundy — one of France's most celebrated wine regions. The commune borders the Dijon-Bourgogne Airport, making it a practical base for travellers arriving by air who want proximity to Dijon without paying city-centre rates. The town itself is a residential suburb of roughly 8,000 inhabitants, with few monuments of its own, but its location places guests within a short drive of Dijon's UNESCO-listed ducal palace quarter and the Place de la Libération.

Most visitors use Longvic as a launchpad. The Côte de Nuits wine road — home to grands crus such as Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges — begins just south of the commune. Dijon's covered market, Les Halles, designed by Gustave Eiffel and dating from 1875, is under 5 km away. Business travellers connected to the industrial zones along the RN274 also account for a steady share of hotel demand here.

Longvic hotels tend to offer free parking and straightforward access to the A31 autoroute, which links Dijon to Lyon (190 km south) and to the Luxembourg border to the north. Trains from Dijon-Ville station reach Paris Gare de Lyon in around 1 hour 35 minutes on the TGV.
