Adyar suits longer stays, with quieter streets near the Theosophical Society's 270-acre campus.

Getting Around

Chennai Metro Rail Phase 1 covers 45 km across two corridors. The suburban rail (mrts) runs along the coast from Beach Station to Velachery, connecting the airport fringe to the seafront at Marina Beach, the world's second-longest urban beach at 13 km. Auto-rickshaws and app-based cabs are widely available for short hops.
