Marella Residence

Eight rooms in the cool hill resort of Bandungan, Marella Residence sits at roughly 900 metres elevation in the Ungaran highlands of Central Java, where mountain air keeps temperatures noticeably lower than Semarang's coastal heat 30 kilometres below.

Each room has a balcony or terrace with direct mountain views, a kitchenette with refrigerator and tea maker, and tile floors throughout. An in-house massage menu covers back, foot, neck, head, hand, and couples options — unusually broad for a small residence. Room service runs via a mobile app, and a convenience store operates on site.

Bandungan is Central Java's weekend hill escape, close to the Gedong Songo temple complex. Shuttle service is available for guests without transport.
