About Malé
Malé
Malé sits at 738 metres above sea level at the heart of Val di Sole, a glacial valley carved by the Noce river in Trentino, northern Italy. The town serves as the administrative centre of the valley and a year-round base for outdoor activity. In winter, skiers reach the Folgarida–Marilleva area, part of the Skirama Dolomiti network covering over 150 km of piste, in under 20 minutes by car. The Pejo 3000 glacier ski zone lies roughly 30 km to the east. Summer draws hikers and mountain bikers into the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park, whose trailheads begin within a few kilometres of the town centre.
The historic quarter around Piazza Madonna includes the 16th-century parish church of Sant'Antonio and a row of painted façades characteristic of Trentino valley architecture. Accommodation ranges from family-run guesthouses to mid-scale hotels offering half-board packages popular with ski groups. Val di Sole is also a white-water rafting destination: the Noce river has hosted international canoe competition events on its rapids downstream of town.
Malé is served by the Trento–Malé–Marilleva narrow-gauge railway, with departures roughly every hour from Trento central station — a journey of approximately 75 minutes. Verona Villafranca airport lies about 160 km to the south.
