Terzolas sits in Val di Sole, a glacially carved valley in Trentino, northern Italy, at roughly 730 metres above sea level. The Noce river runs along the valley floor below the village, feeding one of the most popular whitewater kayaking and rafting corridors in the Alps. The Adamello Brenta Natural Park borders the valley to the south, offering marked hiking and mountain-bike trails accessible within a short drive. The surrounding terrain — steep meadows, chestnut woods, and limestone ridges — draws walkers in summer and cross-country skiers in winter when nearby Pejo and Marilleva ski areas open.

Visitors tend to be Italian and central-European families seeking quieter alternatives to crowded resort towns. Terzolas itself is a small comune of a few hundred residents, so accommodation is limited mainly to agriturismo properties, guesthouses, and self-catering apartments rather than large hotels. The village sits roughly 75 km west of Trento and about 20 km east of the Lombardy border, reachable via the SS42 state road through the valley.

The nearest rail connection is Mezzana-Ossana station on the Val di Sole narrow-gauge line, linking to Trento with a journey of around 90 minutes. Local buses run along the valley floor connecting Terzolas to Malé, the main commercial centre of Val di Sole, approximately 6 km to the east.
