The Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli stand 6 km south. Lucca's medieval walls are roughly 20 km west along the SP1. Cyclists use San Giuliano as a quieter, less expensive base for touring the Pisan plain and the Monte Pisano trails above the town.
