San Salvario, south of the centre near Porta Nuova station, is more affordable and draws a younger crowd to its cafés and street food stalls.

Getting Around

Porta Nuova is Turin's main rail hub, with direct trains to Milan in 45 minutes and to Paris via the Fréjus tunnel in under four hours. Two metro lines link the southern suburbs to Piazza XVIII Dicembre. Walking covers most of the historic centre; taxis handle the remaining gaps.
