About Kominka Guesthouse SENTŌ

An Edo-period kominka — a traditional Japanese farmhouse — converted into a guesthouse, SENTŌ occupies a timber-framed building in Yakumo, a small town on Hokkaido's Pacific coast between Hakodate and Sapporo. Original wooden beams and sliding shoji screens remain intact alongside modern heating and air conditioning.

Guests share a communal kitchen and lounge, with board games available for slower evenings. Bicycles are available to rent for exploring the surrounding rural flatlands and nearby coastal roads. A coffee house operates on site, and the tour desk can arrange excursions into Yakumo's cattle-farming countryside.

Private and contactless check-in suits independent travelers arriving off the JR Hakodate Main Line. Parking is on-site — useful given Yakumo's limited public transport after dark.
