Wadi Rum Lunar Camp

Three hours east of Aqaba along the Desert Highway, Wadi Rum Lunar Camp places guests inside the protected UNESCO-listed valley where rust-red sandstone massifs rise 300 metres from a flat sand floor.

Tented accommodation sits low against the rock so lamp glow rather than electric flood lighting marks the site after dark — a deliberate choice that preserves the valley's near-zero light pollution and the near-complete Milky Way arc overhead.

Jeep excursions into the wider Wadi Rum protected area depart at dawn and dusk; camel treks and climbing routes through the Burdah arch are arranged through the camp. The nearest settlement, Rum Village, sits four kilometres north.
