Ain Chaouen

Eight rooms make up Ain Chaouen, a small guesthouse above a roadside restaurant on the edge of Chefchaouen's blue medina, where the Rif foothills rise just beyond the last whitewashed walls. Each room looks toward the mountains rather than the town's rooftops, a quieter alternative to staying deep inside the medina lanes.

The attached restaurant serves the same Jbala-style tagines to guests and passing drivers alike, with breakfast taken on a terrace facing the hills.

The medina's main square and dye souks are a short walk downhill, making this a practical base for travelers who prefer to drive in and park nearby rather than navigate the old town's steps with luggage.
