CASA TROUSSI

Built into the medina's blue-washed hillside on Rue Sidi Ahmed El Ouafi, Casa Troussi occupies a former Ouezzane family home a five-minute walk below the Kasbah, its rooftop terrace facing the Rif mountains rather than the plaza crowds. A practical, quiet base for travellers touring the old town on foot.

Rooms keep original tadelakt plasterwork and cedar-beam ceilings; several open directly onto shared terraces rather than corridors. Breakfast is served rooftop, weather permitting, with mint tea poured from a Fassi silver pot.

Plaza Uta el-Hammam and the Grand Mosque lie roughly ten minutes downhill through narrow stepped lanes.
