Dar Gabriel

Off Bab Souk, one of the medina's northern gates, Dar Gabriel occupies a converted blue-washed riad within the walled old town of Chefchaouen, a two-minute walk from the Kasbah gardens. Steep alleyways rule out car access, so luggage is carried in by hand from the nearest drop-off point.

Rooms open onto a shared courtyard rather than a corridor, keeping traffic noise out entirely. The rooftop terrace faces the Rif mountains and is where breakfast is served, weather permitting.

The gate itself gives quick access to the Plaza Uta el-Hammam market square without navigating the medina's denser central lanes.
