Dar Hannan

Lined with hand-painted zellige tile, Dar Hannan occupies a converted riad just inside Bab Souk, one of the medina's original gates into Chefchaouen's blue-washed lanes. Rue Kiklana climbs steeply from here, a two-minute walk to the Plaza Uta el-Hammam and kasbah, making it a workable base for travelers who don't want to haul luggage far from a parking drop-off.

Rooms circle a small open courtyard where breakfast is served under a fig tree; the rooftop terrace clears the surrounding rooftops enough to see the Rif foothills at sunset. Staff arrange guided walks into the tannery quarter and day trips to Akchour's waterfalls, both outside typical hotel offerings in this neighborhood.
