Dar zitouna

Eight rooms make up Dar Zitouna, a converted family riad tucked into Chefchaouen's blue-washed medina on Zitouna Laghdir, a narrow lane climbing above the Ras El Maa spring. Each room keeps the original tadelakt plaster walls and cedar-beam ceilings rather than a remodeled finish.

The rooftop terrace faces the Rif mountains and is where breakfast — msemen, amlou, and mint tea — is served each morning. Guests without a car should expect a ten-minute walk uphill from the nearest vehicle drop point, a fair trade for the medina's quiet at night.

Plaza Uta el-Hammam and the kasbah sit six minutes downhill on foot.
