Diyar Marhaba

Twenty-four steps up from Chefchaouen's Ras el Maa spring, Diyar Marhaba occupies a blue-washed house in the Sebbanin quarter, one of the medina's oldest tanning and dyeing neighborhoods. Narrow lanes here stay steeper and quieter than the souk core, suiting travelers who prefer walking over driving and don't mind carrying bags the last stretch.

Rooms keep whitewashed stone walls and painted wooden ceilings typical of the district's older riads. A rooftop terrace overlooks the Rif foothills, and the spring itself — still used by locals for washing — sits a five-minute walk downhill.
