Achabou Desert Camp

Twelve luxury tents rise from the Erg Chebbi dunes outside Merzouga, placing guests within the largest sand sea in Morocco, where dunes peak above 150 metres at the eastern edge of the Sahara.

Each tent combines traditional Berber woven textiles with private en-suite facilities — a deliberate contrast to basic desert camps in the same dune corridor. Dinners are served around a central fire pit, with local tagine and live gnawa music most evenings.

Merzouga village sits a short camel ride away, with 4x4 dune excursions and dawn sandboard runs organised through the camp. The nearest airport is Errachidia, roughly two hours by road.
