Ecolodge l'île de Ouarzazate

An island-style ecolodge set on the shore of the Ouarzazate dam, roughly ten minutes by car from the town's kasbah quarter and film-studio district. Rammed-earth bungalows face the reservoir rather than the road, catching cross-breezes off the water instead of desert heat.

Solar panels cover most of the property's power needs, and the on-site garden supplies much of the kitchen's produce. The dam's edge draws migratory birds in winter, visible from the lodge's shaded terrace.

A practical, quiet base for travellers touring Atlas kasbahs or nearby film locations who prefer distance from Ouarzazate's centre.
