Hikal Guest House

The family-run stone guesthouse in Hikal village, Hunza Valley, positions guests directly beneath Rakaposhi's 7,788-metre face — one of the closest sleeping spots to that peak accessible by road from Karimabad.

Rooms are simple: local charpoy beds, woollen blankets, and shared bathrooms fed by mountain spring water. Meals come from the host family's kitchen — apricot jam, fresh bread, and eggs drawn from the courtyard each morning.

Hikal sits roughly 10 kilometres north of Karimabad along the Karakoram Highway, quieter than the town centre yet close enough for day trips to Baltit Fort and the Attabad Lake boat crossing.
