About Skardu Lodge
Two dozen rooms occupy a stone-and-timber lodge above the Indus River plain in Skardu, the gateway valley for K2 and Broad Peak expeditions. At 2,438 metres, the altitude is noticeable on arrival but manageable within a day.
The lodge sits within reach of Shangrila Resort Lake and the Kachura Lakes, both under thirty minutes by road. Staff arrange jeep transfers north toward Shigar and Khaplu, the two main staging towns for Karakoram trekking routes.
Skardu airport connects to Islamabad on clear days — weather cancellations are common; guests heading to high-altitude trailheads typically add a buffer night here before onward travel.
