Meis is a small municipality in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, northwestern Spain. Set among the low hills and river inlets of the Rías Baixas, it sits roughly 30 km south of Pontevedra city and about 10 km inland from the Arousa estuary. The landscape is defined by granite outcrops, vineyards, and dense eucalyptus forest — typical of interior Galicia. The municipality covers several parishes, including Armenteira, home to a 12th-century Cistercian monastery that remains the area's primary heritage draw.
