Torrenueva Costa sits on Granada's Costa Tropical, a short stretch of Mediterranean shore where subtropical agriculture meets the sea. The municipality is part of Motril's coastal fringe — roughly 70 km southeast of Granada city — and draws visitors who want quieter beaches than those found further west in Málaga province. The coastline here features dark-sand coves sheltered by low cliffs, and the water temperature stays mild enough for swimming well into October thanks to warm offshore currents.
