Red Mangrove

Eight rooms on the banks of the Bentota River, Red Mangrove positions each balcony to face either the waterway or the surrounding mangrove garden, with lake and pool views depending on the floor. Open-air baths and mosquito nets signal that the design leans into the tropical setting rather than insulating guests from it.

The outdoor pool and sun deck sit close enough to the river that boat traffic drifts past during morning swims. Themed dinners and BBQ evenings are arranged on the garden terrace; breakfast can be delivered to the room. Bicycle rental and guided walking and bike tours make the Bentota lagoon circuit and nearby Galapatha Raja Maha Viharaya temple accessible without a tuk-tuk.

Bentota station, on the Colombo–Matara coastal line, sits roughly ten minutes by road, and the property offers an airport shuttle for transfers to Bandaranaike International.
