Le Moulin, Lourmarin, a Beaumier Hotel

Around the base of a converted stone mill in the Luberon village of Lourmarin, Le Moulin occupies one of the most storied addresses in Provence — Albert Camus lived and wrote here before his death in 1960, and the village cemetery holds his grave a short walk away.

The four-star property centres on an outdoor pool and sun deck shaded by mature plane trees, with a restaurant and bar drawing on regional produce. Yoga classes, walking tours, and local culture sessions give the place a slower rhythm than a transit hotel.

Lourmarin sits at the southern edge of the Luberon massif, roughly equidistant between Aix-en-Provence and Apt. The weekly Friday market fills the village square; the Château de Lourmarin, a 15th-century Renaissance castle, stands fewer than 200 metres from the mill gates.
