Manoir d'Hautegente

Stretched along the Dordogne valley floor in the Périgord Noir, Manoir d'Hautegente is a restored 17th-century iron-forge manor where the millrace still runs beneath the main terrace. Stone walls and beamed ceilings anchor the interiors without tipping into museum territory.

The outdoor pool overlooks the river garden, and the restaurant draws on regional Périgord produce — foie gras, walnut oil, truffle in season — with special-diet menus available on request. Canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, and cycling can all be arranged directly through the concierge, making the property a practical base for Dordogne river activities rather than just a night stop.

Les Eyzies, the prehistoric cave capital of France, lies roughly fifteen kilometres west. Sarlat's Saturday market is a thirty-minute drive.
