About Arabba

Arabba

Arabba sits at 1,601 metres in the eastern Dolomites, straddling the Veneto and South Tyrol regions of northeastern Italy. The village anchors the southeastern corner of the Sella Ronda, a 26-kilometre ski circuit linking four valleys and more than 500 kilometres of marked runs across the Dolomiti Superski area. In winter, skiers access the Porta Vescovo sector directly from the village, reaching 2,478 metres and connecting to Marmolada — at 3,343 metres the highest peak in the Dolomites — via the ArabbaMarmolada ski area.

Most visitors arrive between December and early April for skiing and snowboarding, though the village draws hikers and cyclists in summer when the surrounding passes — Passo Pordoi, Passo Campolongo, Passo Falzarego — form part of the Sella Ronda cycling loop. The local accommodation stock runs to small 3-star and 4-star alpine hotels, guesthouses, and a handful of ski-in chalets clustered along the main road through the village centre. Restaurants in Arabba serve Ladin and Tyrolean dishes — canederli, strangolapreti, venison stew — reflecting the cultural mix of the Val Cordevole.

The nearest major airport is Venice Marco Polo (VCE), approximately 165 kilometres southwest, with Innsbruck (INN) around 150 kilometres to the north. A car or shuttle transfer is necessary as no direct rail service reaches Arabba. Lift passes for the Dolomiti Superski network, which covers Arabba's sectors, are sold by the day or week and include the full Sella Ronda circuit.
