Corte D'Aibo

Folded into the Apennine foothills of Monteveglio, roughly 30 kilometres southwest of Bologna, Corte D'Aibo occupies a rural cortile with free parking and an outdoor pool that draws families and couples retreating from the city's summer heat.

The restaurant leans on Emilia-Romagna's larder — tortellini, local Pignoletto wine, and cured meats from the surrounding hills — while breakfast is served each morning before guests head into Bologna's historic centre. An airport shuttle removes the need for a hire car on arrival days.
