MAZZINI PALACE

Eight rooms inside a restored palazzo on Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, Mazzini Palace sits steps from Catania's baroque Piazza del Duomo and the covered fish market of La Pescheria, active from dawn each morning.

The guestrooms retain original vaulted ceilings and terrazzo floors while keeping modern fittings throughout. No restaurant operates on-site, but the ground-floor bar serves espresso and local pastries in the Sicilian tradition.

Via Garibaldi is one of Catania's main pedestrian spines, connecting the city's historic core to the Villa Bellini gardens a ten-minute walk north. Etna's lower cable-car station is reachable in under an hour by regional bus departing nearby.
