Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp

Fourteen traditional Bedouin tents arranged across the red-sand floor of Wadi Rum valley, this camp sits inside the UNESCO-listed protected area where Lawrence of Arabia crossed in 1917. The surrounding sandstone cliffs rise to 1,750 metres and cut off mobile signal entirely after dusk.

Tents use raised mattresses with layered wool blankets rather than air conditioning; shared bathroom blocks are stone-built and cleaned between each use. Dinner is zarb — meat and vegetables slow-cooked underground in a sand pit — served communally at a single evening seating.

Jeep transfers from the village visitor centre, six kilometres north, are arranged at booking. Sunrise camel rides through the valley's narrow siq corridors depart at 05:30, well before day-tour groups arrive from Aqaba.
