Ksar Merzouga Camp

Converted from a traditional ksar at the edge of Erg Chebbi, Ksar Merzouga Camp places guests within metres of the Sahara's tallest dunes, which rise above 150 metres directly beyond the property's earthen walls.

Accommodation follows the desert lodge format: private tents and stone rooms with Berber textiles and lantern lighting rather than standard hotel furnishings. Sunrise camel treks depart from the camp entrance, and guided sandboard sessions are arranged through the on-site team.

Merzouga village sits a short walk north, with the Erfoud road linking the camp to Rissani's weekly souk — the largest in the Tafilalet region — roughly 50 kilometres west. Maâder salt lake, a flamingo-watching site in season, lies 20 kilometres south.
