Maison Hassan Merzouga

Twelve traditional kasbah rooms and canvas suites make up Maison Hassan, a family-run desert lodge at the edge of Hassi Labied village where the Erg Chebbi dunes rise directly behind the property. The sand wall reaches over 150 metres here — among the tallest dune faces accessible on foot from any Merzouga accommodation.

Rooms keep tadelakt plaster walls, carved cedar ceilings, and woven Berber blankets; the rooftop terrace faces east for sunrise over the dunes without leaving the property. Camel treks, quad routes, and overnight bivouac camps are arranged on-site through the host family.

Hassi Labied sits 4km north of Merzouga village, quieter than the main strip but positioned closer to the tallest dune section of the erg. A 4x4 transfer from Rissani airport (55km) can be coordinated through the lodge at booking.
