Off the piste tracks that wind through Erg Chebbi's eastern dunes, Merzouga Ultra Luxury Camp positions its tented suites at the base of the highest sand ridge near Merzouga village — roughly 55km southeast of Rissani and four hours by road from Fès. The five-star camp trades canvas walls for climate-controlled interiors with proper beds, private terraces, and en-suite facilities — standard in name only. Sunrise camel treks and 4x4 dune crossings depart from camp; the Gnawa musicians who perform at the evening fire are local to the area rather than hired regionally.
