Palmas Camp Merzouga

Below the crest of Erg Chebbi's tallest dunes, Palmas Camp Merzouga places guests at the edge of one of Morocco's most dramatic sand fields, where the dune wall rises over 150 metres directly from the camp perimeter.

Accommodation sits in traditional Berber-style tents with rugs and low bedding. The camp organises sunrise camel treks departing before dawn and guided sandboard runs down the steeper northern faces — both arranged the evening before at the communal fire.

Merzouga village lies roughly two kilometres west, reachable by 4x4 or camel. The nearest paved road connects north to Rissani in under an hour, where the weekly souk and Moulay Ali Cherif mausoleum draw day visitors from across the Tafilalet region.
