Folded into the La Maadid edge of Merzouga, Ambelar sits close enough to the Erg Chebbi dunes that the sand-ridge silhouette fills the terrace view at dusk. The adults-only riad organises camel treks and 4x4 desert excursions directly from the front desk, cutting out the roadside touts on Route Nationale 13.

An outdoor pool and a hammam handle the temperature extremes of the Saharan day-cycle. The kitchen runs themed dinners and cooking classes drawing on Tafilalt regional recipes — a step beyond the generic tagine menus found elsewhere in Merzouga. Massage and spa treatments are available on-site, and the bar offers happy hour as the dunes cool each evening.

Rooms are ground-floor throughout, making the property fully wheelchair accessible — rare for a riad format. Airport transfers and car rental are bookable through the concierge.
