Riad Les jardins de Merzouga

An adobe riad in Hassilabied village, just outside Merzouga, Les Jardins de Merzouga sits at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dune field — the same rust-orange dunes that rise to 150 metres and draw sunrise camel treks each morning.

The courtyard garden anchors the property, offering shade and a cooling contrast to the surrounding Saharan landscape. Rooms follow traditional Moroccan construction: thick earthen walls that hold the night cool well into the afternoon, reducing reliance on air conditioning.

Hassilabied is quieter than central Merzouga, with fewer tour-group coaches and a more local pace. The dune access point is a short walk from the property, making early departures for sunrise rides straightforward without pre-arranged transport.
