Zahra Luxury Desert Camp

Six luxury tents pitched at the edge of Erg Chebbi's tallest dunes, Zahra Luxury Desert Camp places guests within walking distance of the 150-metre sand walls that draw photographers and trekkers to Merzouga from across Morocco.

Each tent combines traditional Berber textiles with private en-suite facilities — a deliberate contrast to the shared-bathroom riads common along this route. Evenings center on a central fire circle with live Gnawa music; camel treks to a secondary dune ridge depart at 05:30 to catch first light.

Merzouga sits roughly 50km southeast of Erfoud, the nearest town with a fuel station and ATM. The camp suits travellers crossing between the Drâa Valley and the Tafilalet circuit who prefer one unhurried night over a packed itinerary.
