The nearest town, Sint Maarten, lies about 2 km east; Callantsoog is 3 km south along the same dune coast.

Visitors travelling by public transport use bus line 140 from Alkmaar station (approx. 40 minutes), which stops in the village centre. Cyclists can follow the LF Kustroute (coast-to-coast long-distance cycle route) that passes through the dunes here. The village has no train station.
