Islas Flotante Lado Sur
About Titicaca EcoLux
Sixteen reed cabins float on a hand-built totora platform anchored in the southern sector of Lake Titicaca's Uros island chain, roughly 5km west of Puno's port. Titicaca EcoLux ranks among the very few overnight stays directly on the floating islands, placing guests above open water at 3,812 metres elevation.
Nights drop sharply regardless of season; the property supplies alpaca blankets and a shared reed-walled common room between cabins. Meals draw on lake trout caught each morning by resident Uros families on the adjacent platforms.
Puno's Plaza de Armas and the main ferry dock — departure point for Amantaní and Taquile island day trips — are twenty minutes by motorboat. No road reaches the platform; all transfers leave from the port's southern jetty.
