Titicaca Lodge Flotante

Between the totora reed islands of the Uros archipelago and the open water of Lake Titicaca, Titicaca Lodge Flotante is itself a floating structure built on bundled reed platforms in the traditional Uros method. The lodge sits roughly 5km from Puno's port, reached by a 30-minute motorboat transfer across the world's highest navigable lake at 3,812 metres elevation.

Rooms are reed-walled and reed-roofed, kept warmer than the thin air outside by layered alpaca blankets. Guests sleep with the faint movement of the lake beneath them — a detail no land-based hotel in Puno can replicate.
