Between the totora-reed platforms of the Uros floating islands and the open blue of Lake Titicaca at 3,812 metres, Jaltawi Lodge is built entirely from bundled reed — walls, floors, and the gently springy ground beneath it all.

Rooms follow Uros construction tradition: low ceilings, woven interiors, and blanket layers rather than heating. Sunset from the platform catches alpenglow on the Bolivian cordillera, unobstructed by any structure.

The lodge sits forty minutes by motor boat from Puno's port; staff coordinate transfers and can arrange early-morning fishing trips with local Uros families. No road access, no Wi-Fi, and no hot running water — guests should arrive knowing that.
