About Aguadulce

Aguadulce is a beach resort town on the Costa de Almería in Andalusia, southern Spain — part of the municipality of Roquetas de Mar, roughly 10 km southwest of Almería city. The town fronts a wide sandy beach backed by a modern marina, the Puerto Deportivo de Aguadulce, which hosts leisure craft and a strip of seafood restaurants. The coastline here receives over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, making it one of the sunniest corners of Europe.

Most visitors come for the beach season, which runs comfortably from May through October. Spanish families from Almería and Granada make up the core domestic market; northern European travelers — particularly British and German — arrive for longer stays drawn by warm winters and low accommodation costs compared to the Costa del Sol. The town has a calm, residential character rather than a party atmosphere, which suits couples and older travelers.

Aguadulce sits directly off the A-7 motorway and is reachable from Almería Airport in under 20 minutes by car. Local buses connect the town to Almería city throughout the day.
