Enix is a small Andalusian village in the Alto Andarax valley, Almería province, set on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada at roughly 700 metres above sea level. The settlement dates to Moorish occupation and retains the compact whitewashed street plan typical of the region's Berber-influenced architecture. From the village edge, views extend south across the Almería coastal plain to the Mediterranean — a contrast of high sierra and semi-arid lowland that defines this corner of southeastern Spain.

Visitors are mostly walkers and cyclists using Enix as a staging point for Sierra Nevada trails that connect toward the Pico de la Alcazaba (3,371 m) massif to the north, or as a quiet base within 25 km of Almería city. The Alto Andarax corridor also attracts those tracing the Route of the Alpujarras, the cultural belt of villages associated with the last Nasrid Moors after the fall of Granada in 1492. Rural tourism — agritourism stays, local olive oil production, and traditional Alpujarran cuisine featuring habas fritas and locally cured meats — draws a small but repeat visitor base.

The nearest commercial airport is Almería (LEI), approximately 30 km southeast, with connections to major Spanish cities and several northern European hubs. Accommodation in and around Enix runs to rural guesthouses and small cortijo conversions rather than large hotels.
