Sant Lluís is a small municipality in the southeastern corner of Menorca, Spain — one of the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean. Founded in 1761 under French rule during the brief French occupation of the island, the town retains a distinctive grid-plan layout and a whitewashed church that anchors its central square. The surrounding area is flat agricultural land dotted with stone walls, traditional farmhouses called llocs, and quiet lanes connecting to nearby coastal inlets.
The municipality draws visitors primarily for its proximity to some of Menorca's most sought-after beaches. Punta Prima, roughly 4 km to the south, offers clear turquoise water and direct views of the islet of Illa de l'Aire. Binibèquer Vell, a purpose-built fishing village from the 1970s designed to resemble a historic settlement, sits within the municipal boundaries and attracts day-trippers throughout the summer season. Cala Alcalfar and S'Algar are quieter alternatives within a short drive. The town itself hosts a weekly market on Sundays and a local festival — the Festes de Sant Lluís — each August, featuring traditional horse-riding displays known as jaleo.
Sant Lluís is served by Menorca Airport, located approximately 5 km to the northwest, making it one of the closest municipalities to the island's main air hub. The town has a permanent population of around 7,500 residents and functions as a practical base for exploring the island's southern coast.
