Most visitors stay one to two nights before or after a bay cruise; Nội Bài Airport is roughly 170 km southwest, around three hours by road.

Taxis and ride-hailing apps (Grab) cover both districts reliably. A bridge connects Bãi Cháy to Hòn Gai, so crossing takes under 15 minutes by road. Cruise operators typically arrange pier transfers from hotels. Public buses run along the coastal highway but infrequently after dark.
